get_usage

Read current Tavily key and account credit usage and limits. Optionally scope to a project ID. Use this before expensive crawlsite or createresearch calls. Tavily limits this endpoint to 10 requests per 10 minutes.

list_logs

Read recent per-request usage logs with date, endpoint, project, and API-key filters. Requires a paid Tavily plan or PAYGO. Logs contain credit counts and masked key identifiers, without request inputs or outputs.

get_organization_usage

Get aggregated Tavily usage for an organization you own. Requires the owner's personal API key and exact organization name; organization keys cannot call this endpoint. Filter by date, project, or request depth.

submit_feedback

Submit actual quality feedback for a Tavily search request or session. Use the request ID from search_web or a known session ID. Only send scores and comments supported by a real evaluation; this beta endpoint stores feedback.

create_research

Start an asynchronous cited research task for synthesis beyond searchweb. Returns a request ID; use getresearch to check its status. Mini starts at 4 Tavily credits, pro at 15; final cost is dynamic and can be much higher.

get_research

Get status, cited sources, content, and usage for a research task. Use the request ID returned by create_research. Call again after a reasonable delay if it is pending; this tool makes one status request.

validate_credential

Verify a Tavily API key with a read-only usage request. Returns success and a short message.

search_web

Search the live web when source URLs are unknown. Basic depth costs 1 Tavily credit; advanced costs 2. Returns ranked URLs and snippets. Use extract_content for full text of selected pages. Filters can narrow by date, topic, domain, and language.

extract_content

Extract full or query-focused content from 1–20 chosen URLs. Use search_web first when URLs are unknown. Basic costs 1 Tavily credit per 5 successful extractions; advanced costs 2 and suits tables and dynamic pages. Returns both successful and failed URLs.

map_site

Discover URLs and structure on a site without extracting page content. Use before crawl_site to identify relevant paths and limit work (limit max 500). Costs 1 Tavily credit per 10 successful pages (2 if instructions is set).

crawl_site

Explore a site and extract page content when many pages are needed. Use map_site first to choose paths; set a reasonable page limit (max 100) and depth. Costs combine mapping and successful extraction. Returns any reported failed pages.
