Meet the Mergies: Nicola Morris
Welcome to another edition of Meet the Mergies, a content series that spotlights the wonderful humans who work at Merge.
Today’s edition features Nicola Morris, a technical program manager who works out of our New York City office.Â
Nicola plays a critical role in supporting our partner engineers and product managers, from coordinating projects to helping build integration roadmaps.Â
You can read on to learn more about why Nicola joined Merge, what she works on day-to-day, why she likes working here, and more!
1. What do you enjoy doing in your free time?
I love exploring New York City with friends and family, whether that's parks, museums, restaurants, or neighborhoods!Â
2. Where were you working prior to Merge?
I was previously at Microsoft, where I worked as a cloud solution architect for Teams.
3. What attracted you to Merge?
I wanted to find a role that would allow me to wear many hats and develop my prioritization, stakeholder management, and problem solving skills. It was clear that Merge would enable me to do all of that—and more!Â
Also, the more I learned about Merge, the more impressed I became with the product, the company’s growth, and the Mergies. Everyone had an infectious energy to build the product and the company.Â
4. What does your typical day at Merge look like?
Every day is a little bit different! That said, a typical day may include organizing sprints, holding stand-ups, communicating project progress with internal and external stakeholders, and reviewing customer requests.
5. What do you like most about working at Merge?
The people and the culture! Everyone at Merge is passionate, intelligent, and always willing to take on complex challenges.Â
I’m lucky enough to work with so many different people—from partner engineers and category managers to CSMs and AEs—and we all learn from each other.
6. What keeps you excited about working here?
The growth! During my 9 months here, we’ve grown the partner engineering team by 5x, added 20+ new integrations, 5+ new Common Models, and even moved a category (file storage) into GA!Â
I feel so lucky to be a part of this growth and I can't wait for what's coming next!
