Direct attachment uploads for Xero

Uploading a receipt or invoice to Xero through Merge used to mean hosting the file at a publicly accessible URL first, then pointing Merge at that address, an extra step that added setup work and left financial documents exposed at a public location, even briefly. POST /attachments now accepts files directly, so you can upload receipts and invoices straight to Merge without hosting them anywhere public. It's a smaller setup lift and a tighter security story for anything handling financial records.

Employee and payroll data quality tightened across HRIS

Missing deduction codes, inaccurate start and termination dates, or thin profile data on an employee record cause real problems downstream, in payroll calculations, org charts, anything built on top of that data. Several HRIS integrations closed those gaps this week. ADP Workforce Now (SFTP) now returns deduction codes on Employee Payroll Run history, 7shifts and SAP SuccessFactors return more accurate dates and profile data on GET /employees, and Microsoft Entra ID adds on-premises account names to the same endpoint. BambooHR also stopped creating duplicate webhook subscriptions and now syncs employment updates even when an employee's pay rate hasn't changed.

Large initial syncs and inconsistent API responses have been common failure points for chat and file connectors. Microsoft Teams message and user syncs are now more reliable for large initial syncs, respect the configured sync window, and handle expired pagination sessions cleanly. Dropbox file and folder listings sync more reliably, and SharePoint now syncs files by type and returns a clearer error when a personal Microsoft account is used instead of a work or school account. Jira Data Center ticket syncs also handle project configurations that previously returned non-standard responses, and Merge Dashboard log filters now persist after you open and close a log entry.
