Meeting the demand for HRIS integrations in-house wasn’t feasible
Native integrations are nothing new for Sendoso, the leading sending platform. The team has built dozens of CRM and marketing automation integrations in-house.
This experience taught them just how difficult it can be to build integrations internally.
According to Cody Farmer, Sendoso’s VP of Product:
“Building a single integration requires significant time and resource investments; you also have to support each client’s instance of that application. This means accommodating their custom objects and fields, which only makes integration development and maintenance more complicated.”
Given their experience, it’s little surprise that as more and more customers and prospects began requesting HRIS integrations, Cody was ready to take a different approach.
Leveraging Merge’s Unified API to quickly scale their HRIS integrations
Within 6 weeks, Cody and his team took more than 25 HRIS integrations live via Merge. Cody was blown away.

Using their HRIS integrations, they can automatically sync key employee fields from their HRIS solutions with Sendoso, including first and last names, start dates, birthdays, and job titles.
Sendoso can then use this data to automatically trigger workflows that send the right gifts to the right employees on time. This all but ensures that:
- New hires receive a gift on their first day
- Employees receive a small token of appreciation on their work anniversary
- Employees receive a birthday present ...on their birthday

Delighting customers and opening new revenue streams
Sendoso is already benefiting from offering its customers HRIS integrations.
Users save several hours per week by no longer having to manually upload employee records (CSV files) or add and edit them directly in Sendoso. They also no longer have to send gifts manually in the application, saving even more time.
“Prior to HRIS integrations,” explained Cody, “a user logged into Sendoso, selected the appropriate employee gift, denoted where it would be sent, and then clicked send. Difficult? No, but inefficient and fraught with the potential for human error? Definitely, especially in an organization with hundreds or thousands of employees.”

Sendoso also recognizes that HRIS integrations are critical for acquiring, upselling, and retaining clients, and the early results confirm this. According to Cody, within the first week of offering the integrations, they up-sold one of their clients on the integrations.
Finally, working with Merge has been incredibly easy for Cody and his team.
“We only needed to get on two calls with Merge’s team during the onboarding process,” Cody shared. “The documentation is extremely comprehensive and accessible, enabling us to quickly ramp up and use the platform independently."
