Welcome to another edition of Meet the Mergies, a content series that spotlights the wonderful employees, or “Mergies”, who work here.

In this edition, we’re featuring one of our star account executives, Charlie Lynch. 

Charlie has been a critical part of the company’s growth since he joined a few years ago. He's also one of our longest-tenured sales reps—so his insights below carry a lot of weight!

1. What do you enjoy doing in your free time?

I spend a lot of time with my wife and dog on walks, whether that’s at one of our local parks in Brooklyn or at a national park. And when I can rally a team of willing participants, I’m usually playing in a soccer league during the warmer months of the year. 

2. Where were you working prior to Merge?

I started my career as an AE at a payments company in London called Paddle. I then moved to Cumul.io, which is in the embedded analytics space. By landing at Merge, I’ve gone 3 for 3 in working at companies that are embeddable products; I guess that's my niche in tech. 

3. What attracted you to Merge?

I was actually interviewing with another integration solution while I interviewed with Merge. When I compared their approaches to offering integrations, which were very different, it was clear that Merge’s was much more scalable and effective for clients. 

While the product clearly stood out, the people I met during the interview process also blew me away. Our founders, Shensi and Gil, along with my now manager, Rob Williams, struck me as extremely enthusiastic, brilliant, and kind. 

I was also itching to get back to the office after Covid, so the decision to join Merge was ultimately a no-brainer. 

4. What does your typical day at Merge look like?

My daily activities vary quite widely. 

You might find me calling prospects, taking intro meetings, doing demos, or having renewal discussions. Also, since I’m one of the more tenured AEs, I spend a good bit of time interviewing candidates and assisting newer sales reps. 

5. What do you like most about working at Merge?

Everyone is super driven and willing to work incredibly hard for our customers. I know that the clients I bring in are going to be well taken care of; this inspires me to work even harder.

Also, we’re releasing new features and updates to the product at an incredible velocity. I think that comes down to our talent and our collective motivation to see Merge be the company we think it can become.

6. What keeps you excited about working here?

The people we hired initially forged a great culture, but as we grow, we continue to layer on more employees who add value and inspire positive change. I genuinely worry that I won’t find another company that will come close to matching the drive and demeanor of the people here. 

Merge’s product is also a total game changer. It’s exciting to sell something that I know will not only help businesses but fundamentally transform their product offering.
