Welcome to another edition of Meet the Mergies, a content series that spotlights the wonderful humans who work at Merge.

Today’s edition features Tanisha Nalavadi, a Product Manager that leads our ATS and Ticketing Unified API categories.

1. What do you enjoy doing in your free time?

I love being outdoors! I’m often taking a run along the West Side highway or a walk in Central Park. I also enjoy painting and dabbling in artistic projects. My latest goal has been to DIY all the decor in my apartment. Lastly, I love exploring new neighborhoods and finding hole in the wall food spots to try out.

2. Where were you working prior to Merge?

I was a Product Manager at Microsoft, where I led product development for an Azure Networking service. 

3. What attracted you to Merge?

There are a few reasons. 

For starters, I was fairly early in my career, so I was looking for an opportunity to learn and develop quickly. Since the role I was applying for allowed me to wear multiple hats—such as product management AND engineering—I was fully confident that this was the right place to accelerate my career.

I was also looking for an early-stage startup that was growing quickly—and based on the company's recent growth while I interviewed and their plans for growing in the years ahead, Merge met this requirement to a tee. 

And finally, the people!!! My fellow Mergies are incredibly humble, kind, and fun to work with.

4. What does your typical day at Merge look like?

I lead our ATS and Ticketing Unified API categories. This means I’m responsible for anything to do with these categories, whether that’s triaging and fulfilling customers’ requests, enabling sales on a new feature, ideating with marketing on new ads to run—and much more!

5. What do you like most about working at Merge?

The people! I’m grateful that I have the opportunity to work with people who both inspire and teach me so much. At the same time, they’re so kind and helpful, which makes working here comfortable and enjoyable.

6. What keeps you excited about working here?

The opportunities that continue to emerge as the company grows. My job frequently evolves in exciting ways, and this leads me to constantly face challenges and, in turn, grow.
